About the Authors

Washington Square Arch (Cover Art): Howard Skrill is an artist/educator living with his wife and one adult son in Brooklyn, NY. Skrill's stand-alone images from the Anna Pierrepont Series and the works incorporated into pictorial essays have been published and exhibited worldwide.

In the Big Woods: Erin Swan's work has been published in various literary journals, including CALYX: A Journal of Art and Literature by Women, Bodega Magazine, The Portland Review, and The Stockholm Review of Literature. She holds an MFA in fiction from the New School, and has attended both the Tin House Summer Writer’s Workshop and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. In her working life, Swan has spent time in publishing, taught English in Southeast Asia, and is currently teaching literature and writing in a New York City public high school.

The Starlings of Hugo Wolf: Audra Coleman lives in Asheville, North Carolina where she is earning her MLAS at UNCA. She has been honored to see her work in poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction appear in WNC Woman, Mothers Always Write, The Good Mother Project, 3288 Review, Kestrel, Palaver, Quail Bell Magazine, and The Great Smokies Review.

Two Hundred and Thirty Four Steps: Alizah Hashmi's work has previously been published online in The Young Adult Review Network and RIC Journal. She lives in Pakistan.
