ABOUT THE AUTHORS:

 

Wide Brown Land: Barbara Gurney lives in Perth Western Australia and writes across many genres of fiction and poetry. Her novel, "Road to Hanging Rock," was published by Jasper Books in November 2013. 

The Early Lunch: Craig Loomis is an Associate Professor of English at the American University of Kuwait in Kuwait City. He has had his short fiction published The Iowa Review, The Colorado Review, The Prague Revue, and others. During Spring 2013, Syracuse University Press published a collection of his short stories entitled, "The Salmiya Collection: Stories of the Life and Times of Modern Day Kuwait." 

The Waning Moon: Vanja Artak is an astrophysicist from Aarhus, Denmark, as well as a teacher of math and physics at a high school. Vanja came to Denmark as a fugitive in 1993. Many of Vanja's stories are about the war-torn country of Yugoslavia, and about the struggle of being stuck between two cultures. 

The Bicycle Ride: Mercedes Lucero is a writer whose prose and poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in the Chicago Tribune's Printers Row Journal, Paper Darts Literary Magazine, Curbside Splendor, Whitefish Review, among others. She was a Top 25 Finalist for Glimmer Train's "Short Fiction Award" and her short story, "Memories I Cannot Recall," was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She is the Fiction Editor of the literary magazine, Beecher's, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D in English at the University of Kansas. 

Hands: Gian Carla Agbisit is a Philosophy student at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines. She believes that more than academic writing, creative and/or experimental writing better articulates philosophical ideas and their effects.
